So I did not take the job in Northern MN, mostly because the MN DNR are liars. And I got a call the same day I turned that job down, not 10 minutes after I got off the phone with the DNR, from Fort Lewis in Tacoma WA offering me a job as a Forestry Technician on the base, and around the area. Which is exactly what I wanted to do. Which was amazing.
After spending about a month getting all the paperwork and random physicals that were supposed to be scheduled for me by the Army, that I ended up scheduling for myself, and sending the paperwork out to WA, I was officially given the job, which could last as long as 6 months (December) and I will be doing something I enjoy and have the opportunity to climb around in the mountains when I have free time, which is something I enjoy too.
So I am heading out to Seattle today on the train at 11pm, and will arrive in Seattle at about 10:30am Thursday, and will be staying in Seattle for the rest of the day. Then Friday afternoon I will be heading to Tacoma/Olympia area on the train as well, where my new supervisor has been nice enough to let me stay with him until I find a place near the base where I will be working. So I sort of have that figured out, now I just have to find a place to live for up to six months, and have to lug around 115lbs of stuff around Seattle, which will be interesting. But I have done it before taking my whole life out to a place and then packing it back up to go back home. Oh and I will try to finish typing my Hommes journal on the train, but that might not happen I don't know.
